The inverted castle felt bone-crushingly difficult for a bit and I almost felt like I wanted to give up but then I ended up getting an absurdly powerful sword that was so strong it killed the final boss in like 20 seconds. Thats castlevania balance for you I guess

Just finished the game including the inverted castle and that was easily one of the most obvious all-time great games I have played in a long time. A delight from start to finish and thoroughly weird the whole way through
