Ohio Republicans continue to be negligent in their duties to draw a new Congressional map. This week we point out the three ways they failed Ohioans. Hopefully they will change their approach, but if they don't, we will hold them accountable. You should too.

Andy McCarthy: "The indictment almost fails as an indictment in that it doesn't give you notice of what Comey has actually done. But factually there's nothing there. So this smacks of wanting to put Comey through the process, which is what lawfare is."

Congrats to the Cleveland Stonewall Democrats on 25 years of advocacy, education and activism. I was proud to join you this afternoon as a Champion Host.

Every single one of these clips was taken today in downtown Portland. Portland doesn’t want or need a federal takeover. If Trump insists on sending federal “resources” he can start with funding health care, bridges, affordable housing, and wildfire protection to name a few.

Last night I had the privilege of being able to emcee the 2025 Burning River Roller Derby season awards. Following the awards, the team presented me with the Kent Smith Announcer award - a bedazzled microphone. Our next bout is Saturday afternoon at the Cleveland Hts Community Center.

The First Amendment is first for a reason. Since returning to office, the Trump administration has attacked a variety of artistic & cultural institutions, most recently late night TV shows. In this week's ICYMI, we explain why the loss of creative freedom endangers all of us and why we must resist.

Which of these two is Suzy Hotrod? They both are! When I brought Momma Cat into my home more than 11 years ago, the most famous derby skater in the world was Suzy Hotrod of Gotham Roller Derby. So I named Momma Cat after Suzy. I am flying back from Climate Week and who did I run into - the original.

I am in New York City for Climate Week 2025. This morning's highlights were being able to visit with pal Sage Lenier and having Vice President Al Gore give me a shout out from the Climate Reality stage.

This past Friday I had the privilege to attend the ribbon cutting of the new Cleveland Institute of Art Interactive Media Lab. It has over 14,000 square feet of technology, innovation and collaboration. There is nothing else like it in the nation. Congrats CIA!

Did you notice which group of civic leaders were the first to stand up in a unified manner against political violence? It was our youngest. We talk about that and Robert F Kennedy Sr., and polarizing Presidents in this week's ICYMI.

Thanks very much to Assembly for the Arts for their recognition this morning. At their 10th annual Public Officials Recognition Breakfast they honored me and Ohio State Rep Jamie Callender for our collective support of Ohio's Creative Arts Economy and live local music across the state.

Today I got to represent the Ohio Senate at the formal announcement of Cleveland joining the WNBA. The Commissioner Cathy Engelbert (pictured here) spoke as well as Mayor Bibb and Executive Ronayne. It's important for NE Ohio girls to be able to find role models in all sections of the newspaper.

This morning I got to represent the Ohio General Assembly at the launch of the annual My Walk 4 Friends fundraiser for Friendship Circle. Here are my remarks where I got to quote Coretta Scott King. Her description of the greatness of a community remains relevant to Friendship Circle and all of us.

About to announce today's Burning River Roller Derby bout at the Cleveland Hts Community Center. I am a little under the weather so the announcer kissing booth has been cancelled for today.

This week we will tell you how you can submit your own Ohio Congressional district map and we will tell you who once said, "even complicated partisan issues are solvable if you get the right people in the room and people work in good faith." Do they still believe it? Will they work in good faith?

Someone told me today that I look like a museum relic. I don't know if that's true or not but I am going to sit here and think about it.

"Surely we can learn, at least, to look at those around us as fellow men and surely we can begin to work a little harder to bind up the wounds among us and to become in our hearts brothers and countrymen once again." - Robert F Kennedy Sr. at the Cleveland City Club on April 5, 1968.

Last Monday we celebrated Labor Day and with good reason. Collective bargaining gives people higher wages and a safer workplace. So the question is why do Republicans in Washington DC and Columbus keep trying to hurt unions? We discuss it in this week's ICYMI.

Thanks very much to the Ohio Chamber of Commerce for naming me one of their Legislators of the Year. In presenting me this award they acknowledged my work to protect consumers from utility company abuses. Turns out businesses don't want to be taken advantage of either. Thanks for everyone's support.
