Book 12 of 2025. NY resolution ✅️ Might have read 12+ anyway, but it's kept me reaching for books

Plenty on the pile to get through before the year's end

Like his 1st book, a v interesting read. Not sure if "enjoyed" is the right word -quite grim reading how much better the prison system could be

Book 11 of 2025

NY resolution to read at least 12 getting smashed

Keeping wee run of brilliant Scottish novels going. Long time since I read any Brookmyre and not sure why that is

An excellent read. Flew through it, & loved the overlap with my interests (metal music, horror films, Scots humour)

Book 10 of 2025.

The excellent debut novel by Chris McQueer.

Raced through it in a couple of days. A captivating read and sadly feels all too real.

Book 9 of 2025.

Not sure i should even count that. Glad I borrowed it from the library rather than bought it; a tiny short story that I had finished in about 10 mins.

Helps tide me over until The Rose Field finally arrives in October 😁

Buzzing for this. Book was brilliant. Hopefully as good an adaptation as The Martian.

Book 8 of 2025. As tremendous as I've come to expect from @nivenj1.bsky.social

Raced through it in a few days, snorting laughing and choking up.

Marr autobiography (very good) skelped just in time for the new one from my favourite author @nivenj1.bsky.social landing.

Not long started it and already snorting like a fucking pig in a way only Niv can make me.

Cannae wait to tear through this.

Book 7 of 2025

Can't tell u how much I love The Smiths. Great reading about how they wrote their songs

Even better was the chapter on his album with Modest Mouse: a top 10 of all time for me, & something i have a tattoo of on my elbow!

On course to tick off a NY resolution (read 12 books in 2025)

Watched this in one sitting while recovering from a 24 hour fundraiser run I did yesterday.

The most ambitious comedy production I've ever watched. Has to be seen to be believed.

Only Nathan Fielder could conceive or pull this off.

Wow. 👏

In about an hour, I'll start running round the field at Arran High School, and won't stop moving until 24 hours has passed - all to raise funds for AYF

Best place for updates will be www.facebook.com/ArranYouthFoundations

All donations very much appreciated 🙏

Book 6 of 2025.

Picked this up at a screening of The Room last week.

Very easy read that had me laughing out loud so many times.

Really enjoyed that - would happily have read lots more Tommy stories.

Book 5 of 2025.

Pretty well on course to tick NY resolution (12 books in 25)

Really well researched, detailed, evocative book

Leaves you feeling you knew the victims, understood some of the trauma that shaped the perpetrators, understood how they were caught etc

Good recommendation from the sis

Very worthy winners.

Most aggressive press I've seen from a team in ages. They're excellent. So attacking, quick, positive with every pass.

Best winning performance i remember. They were pretty much perfect.

"Oh hi Mark!"

Another live screening of The Room at The GFT. Always a riotous night. Got ma spoons ready.

Book 4 of 2025.

Absolutely love this man. A hero, icon, role model, someone I massively aspire to emulate in a lot of ways.

Batshit crazy - some of his stories just have me laughing out loud in awe.

If you want to cry big bubbly tears, try and catch Gabby Logan's interview with the dads of the Southport victims who are running the London Marathon.

Fucking hell. Good on them.

Book 3 of 2025.

The Fellowship Of The Ring.

Tolkien might have intended for it to be one book, but the publisher split it into 3 and I'll be counting the next parts as books 4 & 5!

Still holds up as a fantastic adventure. Bloody loved this as a teenager. Still do as an adult.
