A 2d styled game wouldn't feel right with the joystick on the nunchuck, I imagine. So they can't use that.

And I guess they didn't want to make the pro controller a requirement to play the game, so they just said

I think I'm done playing for tonight. I didn't want to play too much, just wanted dip my toes in to see what it's like.

It's not bad so far.

However, I think they should've leaned in one direction or the other.

Either make a 2d Metroid in a 3d space

Or make a first person prime styled game

Just have them as a pick up later on in the game.
