“Who moved my cheese” was a org change/adaptation book popular in the late ‘90s and early 2000s. While some of it was OK - IMO - the core message was basically - “We’re changing things. Get over it and get with the new program!” These guys really are tone deaf.

Seems like when they bring him in at the last minute, they lose. Almost like they don’t want him endorsing early because people will react negatively. The 11th hour endorsement feels more like they are in the space of “what the heck, let’s give it a try, what have we got to lose at this point?”

In grad school I’d love the times when I would get “sidetracked” while chasing some topic down in the library. I’d find the journal, read the article abstract and then often flip to the references to see where thoughts came from. Then follow one or more of those references to other threads.

If it’s my own work, put it away for 2-3 days and come at it (somewhat) fresh. If it’s someone else’s work, first read it all the way through without making comments. Then make comments on the second read.

It’s also one of his “go to” moves when confronted. Instead of engaging on facts or policy he just denigrates the questioner (at least in his mind) reducing their question and value to zero. i.e., “you’re not even worth my time to deal with” therefore I’m moving on.

Given Drumpft’s incessant self marketing I would think “Trumplican” is the natural option. Cleanly gets his name in there and effectively removes “republic” from the party name,reflecting the actual state of play in the GOP.

Hmmmm I’m thinking he didn’t write all of that. It is more coherent and less randomly capitalized than usual. Perhaps he delegated the first draft and just rushed through edits so he could get his nap in.

Years ago had a chat w/ an accomplished Professor in my field. Brilliant, funny, has an endowed chair at a major uni. He did NOT have fond memories of HS. My experience was much more enjoyable, but still, the years after are the best parts of my life.

The naps and shorter days are helpful signs. Cuz … he lies so much, is stupid, and incurious. So it is difficult to know by what he says if he’s slipping or just being who he usually is cause he’s not tethered to facts as we know them.

Isn’t all of this just a consequence of deregulation and “the free market” then just doing what it does? - Trying to extract max $$$ out of the product for shareholders? So, yay capitalism I guess? That’s the system folks. Don’t like it, don’t use it. Or get your legislative reps to change the game.

How can Drumpft’s minions not appeal? I can hear the mango menace all the way out here in the Midwest yelling - “Appeal. Appeal, damn it. Get this up to my SCOTUS. They’ll do what’s right! After all this is why I appointed those three!”

IMO Trump “jokes” this way because that is how he sees the world. No empathy, sadistic pleasure in hurting others, and a chance to reiterate that he is dominant/in control. So, he finds deportations funny - in his twisted world view. “Ha ha. Look I could send these birds to prison just like people.”

So if the trend continues (about a percent a month) he could be at about 27% just before the midterms. His low point in Trump 1.0 was 29%. For comparison G W Bush hit 19%. I’m astonished Drumpft’s approval ratings aren’t lower.

Under construction huh? Just like he promised dozens of times that programs, proposals and answers would be unveiled “in two weeks”? Course this behavior has a long history in republican politics. See for example Reagan and trickle-down economics.
