The ice will inevitably lift up some chunks of Cretaceous bedrock. Some will contain calcified lenses and concretions that preserve fossil plants. I tried w/ no success to interest my MSc supervisor in these fossils. Looking back on it, perhaps it was for the best. Let the river keep the past?
