I've been slacking a bit on posting lake and cat pictures.

So, here are some pictures of frozen lakes I recently hiked to along the Front Range in CO! My hatred of the winter wind has kept me from adventuring much further.

Today I attempted to snowshoe to Jasper Lake. I made it to the lake just fine, but there was never quite enough snow for snowshoes. So instead I carried them for emotional support, I guess. Still, it was a beautiful hike!

There's a magical couple of days (sometimes weeks) each year when there's enough snow on the top of Long's Peak to deter most people from summiting, but the Chasm Lake trail is still free from avalanche danger. It was glorious getting a parking spot at 6am today for a beautiful hike!

This past weekend, my husband and I went to Breckenridge and hiked to Mayflower Lake, Upper / Lower Mohawk Lakes, and the 4 other lakes in the basin! I can't wait to return during wildflower season!

This weekend, my husband and I went on a backpacking trip to Thunder Lake. It was *very* windy, but we still made it to Box and Eagle Lakes on our "rest" day!

Today I celebrated the perfect fall weather with a 16 mile hike in the Wild Basin area of Rocky Mountain National Park to Lion and Snowbank lakes.

Today I hiked to Pawnee Peak and a beautiful unnamed lake beneath it. Fall is in the air!

Yesterday my husband and I hiked to a few more beautiful lakes in Rocky Mountain National Park.

After throwing herself out of the window and through the screen the other night at 11:30 pm, we've doubled-down on safety with a second *more secure* screen, and a collar (she's already microchipped). She is not amused.

The weather surprised me by being somewhat reasonable, so I headed up to Rocky Mountain National Park and explored Fern and Spruce lakes. Hiking through the burn scar from the 2020 East Troublesome fire was a mixture of beautiful and sad.

I was hoping to explore a few new alpine lakes this weekend, but the weather thinks otherwise. Here's a throw back to an off-trail beauty I visited earlier this month.

To balance things out, here's an alpine lake I hiked to in Rocky Mountain National Park last week.
