Perhaps the biggest problem this country faces is the total lack of any price to be paid for just lying non-stop about everything.

Most of the big press shops won't even call it lies. They just repeat the claims without comment.

Paying no political cost for lying is antithetical to democracy.

I don’t see anyone in this thread talking about retrieval-augmented generation, which is when the chatbot does a search, chooses sources, and then cites those real sources in support of its answer. At least that allows you to peek under the hood and evaluate the trustworthiness of that source.
