Grateful for the strong support at the UN Security Council.

Russia’s violation of Estonian airspace was a provocation against NATO & the EU that cannot be tolerated.

Aggression must never be treated as normal.

This morning, 3 Russian Mig-31 fighter jets entered Estonian airspace.

NATO fighters responded and the Russian planes were forced to flee.

Such violation is totally unacceptable. The Government of Estonia has decided to request NATO Article 4 consultations.

Glad to see you in Tallinn again, @eucopresident.consilium.europa.eu.

Expect bold decisions at the next #EUCO that increase our support to Ukraine and pressure on Russia. Need to move ahead with Ukraine’s accession!

Funding and building big EU defence projects must begin already before next MFF.

Putin hopes his games tire the democratic world, but our unity and resolve have proven otherwise. Today’s VTC is a clear example.

Security guarantees must be defined by those who seek and provide them. Russia has no say in Ukraine’s future - or the future of Europe and NATO.

A drone wreck with signs of explosion was found in Southern Estonia yesterday. No injuries reported.

Russia has long used GPS jamming and other EW tactics to disrupt regional air and sea traffic.

Estonia will respond by building layered air defence, including a drone wall.

Friends. Allies. Partners. 🇪🇪🤝🇫🇮

A memorable morning fishing off the coast of West Estonia.

Congratulations on the biggest catch today, @PetteriOrpo. Will be waiting for the rematch.

Today we honor the victims of communism and nazism.

The secret pact between Stalin and Hitler led to the deadliest war in human history. Europe was divided, millions were killed and even more suffered.

Let’s learn from history. Only Ukraine can decide its future. No one else.

34 years ago today, Estonia reclaimed its independence. 🇪🇪

It is an encouraging reminder from history. The will of people is ultimately more powerful than any occupation built on lies and violence.

With courage and resolve, even the smallest can bring empires to their knees.

Good VTC with the Coalition of the Willing. It is essential to coordinate our positions at this critical time.

We must focus on Ukraine’s security guarantees. This means key parameters as close as possible to Article 5.

Estonia will do its share. 🇪🇪🤝🇺🇦

Despite diplomatic efforts, Russia continues its killings and refuses ceasefire. Putin’s drones and missiles struck Ukraine again.

Nice words won’t help. We must keep up the pressure. Now is the time to back Ukraine stronger than ever.

Estonia stands with Ukraine. 🇪🇪🤝🇺🇦

The strongest backers of Ukraine reaffirm support for its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

We remain committed to military aid, diplomacy, pressure on Russia. No borders changed by force. No decisions on Ukraine without Ukraine. No decisions on Europe without Europe.

After one year in office, a lot has been done.

From historic decision to boost defence spending to 5%, to desynchronising the Baltic grid from Russia and on reducing bureaucracy.

And the work continues. Sincere thank you to all friends and Allies for your support.

The EU has just agreed on one of its strongest sanctions packages yet against Russia.

Lowering the oil price gap directly reduces the Kremlin's ability to fund the war.

Our pressure must increase to force Putin to stop the killing. This is the way to a just and lasting peace.

Tonight, Putin launched its biggest attack yet on Ukrainian civilians. Targets included apartment buildings, a school and a hospital.

Russia’s cruelty will not stop unless we force it to.

That means acting now: a strong 18th sanctions package and more aid for Ukraine.

Twice in a decade, Estonians from across the globe gather in Tallinn to sing, dance, and celebrate our culture and freedom.

Every singer and dancer has an important role to play. No one is insignificant.

Together and united, even the smallest will become big. 🇪🇪

Putin needs conflict, like fish need water, to keep his regime in power.

Without conflict, people in Russia would start asking questions - where is my son, husband, assets?

This is why everyone in NATO must increase their defence spending, as we agreed.

Estonia's PM: Everyone should reach 5% defence spending, even Spain
In an exclusive interview with Euronews, Kristen Michal urged all NATO members, including Spain, to meet the 5% GDP defence spending target, emphasising the risks the continent faces from Russia. #Eur...

Historic decision! NATO Allies agreed to raise defence spending to 5%.

Thankful to @SecGenNATO and @POTUS for their leadership in facilitating the agreement.

Now we must show joint effort to deliver what we promised. And we will. #WeAreNATO

In Hague to make NATO stronger.

My main message - if everyone would invest to defence like Estonia, no one would even dare to think about testing NATO’s nerves.

Only by acting today can we ensure lasting peace for our people.

Honoured to participate at my first #NATOsummit Leaders’ dinner.

The presence of Volodymyr Zelenskyy sends a clear message - NATO stands with Ukraine.

NATO membership continues to be the best security guarantee for Ukraine. And NATO needs Ukraine too – to make our Alliance stronger.
kristenmichalpm.bsky.social
On my way to #NATOsummit in Hague with Hanno Pevkur and @tsahkna.bsky.social.

NATO is the strongest security Alliance in the world, keeping our people safe and war away from our borders.

To keep it like this, all Allies must raise defence spending. Estonia will reach over 5% already next year.

Today we celebrate our Victory Day.

Estonia has risen from the ashes of war twice. We have created a free and democratic country with strong Allies and friends around the world.

We have a lot to be proud of. And we will never forget the past sacrifices that made this possible.

Estonia has over 100,000 reservists. Last year, nearly one in four took part in military exercises.

But even the strongest need support. That is why we celebrate Reservists’ Week - to honor those who serve and those who stand behind them.

Security is our shared responsibility.

Honoured to open the 8th #InformEU plenary. This time in Tallinn.

Not only drones are flying in Europe - so do lies. Every day, on every screen.

This is why fighting disinformation matters. To ensure trusted and united Europe where democracy is seen as a source of strength.

Shocked by the tragic news about the school shooting in Graz.

Estonia stands with Austria in this difficult time, Christian Stocker. 🇪🇪🇦🇹

Violence has no justification. Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the victims.

Glad to welcome you to Tallinn, Pham Minh Chinh, the first Prime Minister of Vietnam to visit Estonia.

We made good progress today in strengthening our digital cooperation and trade ties.

Security of our regions is interconnected, so we must work together to safeguard a rules-based world order.
