I've been reading the post-Bats: Year One, Catwoman stories in order. 2 things that have struck me so far:
1. There are not many of them
2. Most of them are not actually that interested in her.

This is the title page of issue #5 of her ongoing series. Catwoman doesn't actually turn up until page 6.

Okay they really are going as far as they can with this, without actually giving us two women making out!

Good morning, dark Lord of fluff. Are your preparations for spreading chaos underground and Overground going well?
A couple of books reading for review, The Snow-White Soliloquies by Sheila MacLeod and Quark/1 Ed. Samuel R. Delany and Marilyn Hacker.

Whilst I am enjoying watching the 1979 anime of Rose of Versailles, I have a sneaking suspicion the subtitles are not 100% accurate.

I just learned that the first season of the Bill and Ted animated series actually had Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter, George Carlin and Bernie Casey doing their voices, not impersonators as I had assumed.
That is just so wild Hanna Barbera managed that.

Good morning, trying to catchup with works I haven't read from 1970 so finishing off Recall Not Earth by C. C. MacApp and Dread Companion by Andre Norton before moving on to And Chaos Died by Joanna Russ.

Good morning, I am reading some more Superman comics, up to Lex Luthor being elected president and all feels far too real. I feel like I have heard these exact lines spoken in earnest many times over the last decade (with just a certain name changed).

Good morning, reading two things for review.
Early Michael Swanwick in Gravity's Angels and the anthology The Disappearing Future (near-future fiction and futurist speculation).

I started recently reading Galactic Girl by Fiona Richmond from 1980. 1 of ~10 new SF books from a British woman author from a British publisher in 1980, as it was really in the doldrums. However she is more well known as a glamour model and the book is weird. It has rainbow genitalia by page 3...

One thing I love about The Amazing Digital Circus is how each episode manages to get:
1. Emotionally deeper
2. More unhinged in the plotting
This week being prime example. Also I need a buddy action comedy starring the wonderfully violent pairing of Zooble and Gangle.

As far as I am aware there is only 1 further appearance which muddies things more than anything. In Reign In Hell limited series Linda shows up working for hell and Shadowpact fight her. So presumably does exist in this continuity and is dead? Or the Matrix is deatched? Or anything else???
August 15, 2025 at 6:43 PM
Now you could maybe do some hand waves of your own, like it is Superboy punching the walls of reality but I am pretty sure it has never been explicitly mentioned. Occasionally turns up in evetns like Convergence and in histories of the DCU but how or why I don't believe is ever explained.
August 15, 2025 at 6:36 PM
Even when she interacts Connor, who Matrix used to work with a lot, it doesn't come up. Not even a "that uniform looks familiar" or "you have to earn the right to use that name"
August 15, 2025 at 6:27 PM
1 Year later (in release time, probably shorter in universe) a spaceship crashes in Gotham. It contains Kara Zor-El, Superman's cousin from Krypton. She wears a uniform not dissimilar to Matrix's and uses the same name. A fact no one seems to comment on.

Supergirl's ongoing comic ended with issue #80 in 2003. In this there was a lot of cross-universe shenanigans involving the original SG. Perfect time to remove her from the timestream.
But instead Linda (as she's now called) retires & goes into hiding, giving her Supergirl stuff to Lois & Clark.
August 15, 2025 at 6:09 PM
The Matrix itself however survives and eventually, with help from Supes and Lex, becomes the main universe Supergirl. I don't want to go through all the twists and turns, but let's just say things got complicated.
August 15, 2025 at 6:01 PM
Now Byrne's run ended with Superman going to that universe and everything one dying, including Supes executing the genocidal Zod there. In that universe though, their Lex had created a version of Supergirl via Protoplasmic Matrix.
August 15, 2025 at 5:54 PM
2. John Byrne wanted no other Kryptonians hanging about and no early CK. Last Son of Krypton meant 1 survivor.
Instead of a hand-wave (like Power Girl is secretly Atlantean) they created a weird pocket universe that the Legion time travelled to always. Mostly just for Time Trapper to mess with them.
August 15, 2025 at 5:47 PM
For those not in the know, after the original Supergirl dies in Crisis on Infinite Earths and the Superman title was rebooted there were 2 problems:
1. They didn't reboot the Legion of Super-Heroes, as it was their 2nd biggest seller, even though it was heavily tied to Superman history.
