I meant to get this in the oven by 6am, smh. Really slacking.

I'm keeping the rest of the steen's cane syrup bottle. Excellent on pancakes or oatmeal.

Made the crust and cooked the cane syrup with sugar, butter, flour, and corn starch. Letting that cool while the pie dough rests in the fridge. Giving my back another break. When I get back up it's gonna be unroll the dough then add the eggs, vanilla and pecans to the filling.

I washed some dishes and then needed to give my back a break lol. We'll see if we actually make it through this but I'm just going to take my time. The only hard part should be making the crust. For the filling I'm following the recipe on the steen's bottle which requires making a roux to thicken.

I do this not because literally anybody needs me to, but because if I have a thanksgiving without pecan pie I might break
