Unionist. Progressive. Democratic Socialist. Call me a woke leftie, I take it as a compliment. He/Him. We/Us. Human. Twitter refugee.
I'm going to be the one to say it, and I don't care if I'm called negative for saying it:

Labour deserve to lose the election in 2026 with this sort of rhetoric.

Fuck right off, Chris Hipkins.

#nzpol
WTF do you mean 'agree in principle', like I mean the other comments are good, but its a dumb policy and I have no idea why Hipkins thinks otherwise.

Just goes back to the point that central government politicians do not understand or care about local government.

Putting aside for a moment the disgusting actions of David Seymour shooting the messenger and blaming the principal for his own failures, the comments from the children saying that they are put off these lunches now is the govt getting exactly what they wanted.

This policy is EITHER:

- willfully destructive because there is no way councils can manage this thanks to Local Water Done Well

AND/OR

- developed by morons who don't understand what councils do or how they work

There are no other options.

#NZPol Just vote Green. This is such bullshit.
Things that Labour will say 'yes' to:
1. We need 120,000 people unemployed (at least) to stop wages going up by too much.
2. Banks can extract $8bn a year in profits, because that's the price we should pay.
3. The market will eventually deliver affordable energy / food / rent - be patient comrades.

National plan on bringing back matching employer contributions to KiwiSaver, and credit where it's due, this is a good thing.

HOWEVER

These fucks took this away under John Key. They are merely putting back a policy they got rid of.

We'd be richer now if we kept it how it started.

Just a polite reminder that Labour had the mandate and the political capital in 2020 to implement radical tax reform, but Jacinda Ardern ruled it out because she was trying to appease to RWers that would never vote for her anyway.

Let's stop revising history and pretending she was great.

Don't let these articles confuse you about STV vs FPP.

STV is designed so that people can rank candidates that are the less of several evils. This is a good thing. It means we aren't wasting votes when we rank ideal candidates #1 but also rank centrists #13.

Let's be perfectly clear: there is nothing wrong with the government borrowing during trying times if that money is being used wisely on infrastructure and to keep the people safe, warm and healthy.

However that's not what's happening. It went to landlords to make their wallets thicker.
