In the early 2000s I lived in Ames, Iowa, when the first (US or North American, I can’t remember exactly which) Barilla pasta factory opened on the edge of town.

My second favorite way to have pork, after a BLT:
Melt a stick of butter, put some herbs in it. Split a loaf of Italian bread lengthwise, put it cut side up in a baking dish.

I just made my most dad-coded midnight snack: braunschweiger[1] spread on a stalk of celery and some ranch dip on top.
[1] I haven’t had this in maybe two decades but suddenly craved it and made it for Thanksgiving.
