Plush sharks incorporated.
There's also Test Drive: Le Mans. The controls are pretty fun, and it has a dynamic time of day (since, yk, 24 hour races).

Don't some of the very early models have video issues? Like, colour banding?

Steph may i make a recommendation for your site?
In the articles section, make the <a> link be the entire image and not just the text, that way it's easier to click on it since it's just one link and not multiple links on the same div.

hey Steph have u seen this? www.pcgamer.com/games/rpg/dr...

it even includes an artist's depiction of an EA exec as the thumbnail
Dragon Age creator says EA execs thought BioWare fans would eat whatever slop they were given since 'the nerds in the cave would always show up for an RPG, because it was an RPG'
Which worked out very well.

One thing - don't apologize for something other people did just because you share the same language. It's not your fault.

... Or do I keep running? These are questions that just never arise on a game with modern controls. But as you limit the player's movement, far more interesting scenarios can play out, if the game is balanced around it.

Or maybe i'm wrong idk

...I think tank controls are more than justified in a lot of games. It makes you see the game world differently. You can't circle strafe enemies anymore, now you have to take space into account. RE4 (OG on GC) is a good example. Do I have time to stop, turn around and aim at the enemy? ...

...to be tough to control. Like, imagine a currently made up hyper-mech game where the huge mechs require the player to fumble between mouse, keyboard, foot pedals and two aircraft joysticks. A part of the challenge would be you, the player, overcoming the mech itself. It's a similar reason why...

...transparency than it is about "accessibility", in the sense of niche games.
But ofc that's accessibility in that specific sense, I don't see a reason a game shouldn't have subtitles / colourblind modes / more control options. Though I can even see an argument a specific type of game might WANT...

...specific, niche audiences. I mean, try playing sometihng like Cogmind or La Mulana. It's just that there should also be accessible reviews made by competent reviewers that clearly show players how a game works to make sure they don't buy something they won't like. IMO it's more about...

...which items you need for the items you need for the items you need to craft the blue science pack. This also requires setting up oil production and stuff... it's a huge filter, but I think that's fine. Games should be accessible, but they shouldn't be "for everyone". That's how you get the...

Factorio is one of my favourite games, but it's a huge "skill issue" for a lot of people, but in a very weird way. It's a game not designed with tight controls or action in mind, but planning, calculation and problem solving as the core mechanics. The game has a TON of "room" for new players to...

You just end up removing a ton of visual identity while retaining all the jank that could previously be looked past by saying "well it's a PS1 game what more do you want?"

It's partially why BDSP was received so poorly.

...everything else the same, you end up with a BETTER product, than with something where you go in and just improve the graphics and sound, because then a different "weakest link" is found. It recontextualizes everything to the point where you're better off remaking it entirely (Spyro/Crash).
