I'm Vale Nagle, and I write queer naturepunk epic creature fantasy novels. If you've always wanted a series with gryphons based on sand cats, vampire finches, saber-toothed tigers, giant otters, or hooded pitohui, I'm your author.

Vale Nagle, starting with Eyrie and ending with Saberbeak, portraying a wide range of interesting gryphons in interesting places from hawks to kakapo to snowy owls to diving petrels to starlings to hooded pitohui to sand cat hoopoe birds to white-tailed kites in golden armor to saber-toothed tiger gryphons. The first ten covers are in an illustrated style, but the last book, Blue Eyes, is a short story collection in a very stylized art that has a snow leopard in the snowy mountains.

The problem with being me is that when I say things like that in a hospital, the nurse turns to my husband and is like "I don't know how to tell you that you wife has brain damage," and then he has to explain to them that, no, I'm just like this.

I'll be sitting here, zoned out, then I'll move and become ravenously hungry. Then I eat and become overwhelmingly sleepy.

It's still not too bad, but I am feeling pretty weird.

Okay so which style would look better for stickers?

A is more detailed and closer to my actual style
B is chibi/cutesy with simplified details and anatomy

These are doodles to test the style only, I would redo these for scratch for the final version of course.

Fingers crossed it stays like this and doesn't get worse. When Glenn got it years ago, it was extremely terrible and Long COVID still gives him ministrokes and heart issues even today. I'm glad it's not that, though I wish he'd gotten a milder version than he did way back then.

Day two of COVID. I'm doing okay, weirdly enough. Maybe because of my booster a month ago or getting three weeks worth of antibodies a week ago. I don't feel healthy, but it seems like a mild case so far. (I have the drugs to reduce Long COVID chances, at least, if not Paxlovid-type stuff.)

When the alternative was $1k after discounts, my doctor was pretty quick to say "just in case you're tempted to try to halve your blood thinners and also take Pavloxid... please do not do that."

Sounds like metformin helps prevent long covid even if it doesn't help now and it is covered, at least.

Turns out, there is an option that's safe for me with C-APS that works better than Paxlovid!

...Medicaid does not cover it and it's $1k out of pocket.

Well, nevermind then.
