This JLPT prep has rekindled my long irrelevant disdain for pencils. I can't believe we're still using these primitive, lefty-hating devices. Also, the JLPT site says mechanical pencils are allowed but "not recommended" because they might mess up the grading machine. Why allow them then?????

My answer is JET SET RADIOOO. Not only is this actually happening, but we also have Bomb Rush Cyberpunk in case the reboot is a dud.

Now that Arkham Origins is running well on my PC again, I have to say this series slaps very much. They don't hold up to much intellectual scrutiny since they basically amount to Highlights Magazine-level busywork wrapped in a story about how a billionaire would make the ultimate cop, BUT: Shut up.

Just spent all night troubleshooting why my laptop was suddenly extremely chuggy. In the end, what worked was unplugging and replugging the power cord. Kind of wish I'd thought to try that back when I was tearing my hair out over SF6 stutters 😳

With the JLPT just four days away, I took another practice test and now the fear is brewing. Did okay, but went over time and had several correct answers that I very nearly didn't pick.
I renew my claim that the listening section is way easier than the rest, which is weird bc I'm very visual.

I just saw a comment under an arcade stick ad that was like, "I want a review copy," and I thought, "arcade sticks don't come in COPIES, they come in UNITS." Then I realized English is just as bad as Japanese about having a gazillion context-specific counters.

Incidentally, this was a very correct week to release a song about losing myself to a bad work-life balance
I had to stay up all night for a mostly passive work obligation, so I passed the time by revisiting Okami. I almost never get the urge to play it, even though every time I do it has an uncanny, instant restorative effect on my soul. I can't think of another game that's as joyous an escape.

So yeah I beat Neon Inferno on Medium and it's very good. More nuanced opinions forthcoming. Two important things not covered in the tutorial:
1. L2 locks your shot direction in place so you can run around while shooting
2. R2 locks you in place so you can shoot in various directions without moving
