I know everyone is focused on Deepseek R1, but the Phi-4 LLM from Microsoft deserves a lot more attention than it gets. It is a open 14B model that in my experience outperforms its peers for scientific writing. youtube.com/shorts/ABhmM...

Footnote 2 should serve as a warning to anyone involved in scientific publishing. The last thing we need is to have publishers run AI over the text and expect authors to spend time reverting all the bad changes it made!
