Ugh, the stupidity hurts. Here in Utah we believe in small government! People have a right to choose if they get cavities in their teeth! Oh, but if someone has hurt feelings about seeing a rainbow, then we believe in big government.

This country is so stupid now. These are two of my favorite working K9 patients and their humans. They’re traveling for training but were told not to wear anything that says FEMA. Used to be when we traveled in our FEMA uniforms people thanked us for our service—now they’re threatening violence.

We are currently in an avian influenza outbreak, which has already killed thousands of poultry/wild birds. It also has infected cattle, cats, and humans. Flu loves to mutate so we are *this close* to another pandemic. The CDC’s MMWR provides critical information to save human & animal lives.

Climate change is real. I’ve been involved with Urban Search and Rescue for 15 years and I can see a change during that time. Hurricanes are bigger and wildfires are hotter. In many cases the mission is changing from search and RESCUE of survivors to search and RECOVERY of bodies.
