I've been following the impacts of the "dog massacre law" in Turkey.
I contacted rescuers in Turkey to hear about whether the law has worked to reduce the stray dog population, and what the negative, inhumane impacts of the law has been.

You need an attention-grabbing subject line, a tiny intro about you and why you're well-placed to cover the story, why the story is timely, why this story fits with this pub, and what the story is and who you'd speak to.

And I got work as a result.

Since coming back to work after a summer with my three kids, my pitching became frantic. I quickly formed and sent off pitches to editors, desperate to get some form of work.

But in my haste, I ignored the basics of pitching, what I had learned when I first started.
