at last! way back in January I applied for permanent residency here in Iceland (the equivalent of the US’s green card) — and it’s finally been approved!!!! i am so so SO relieved and excited!!

gleðilegt sumar!! it’s sumardagurinn fyrsti, the first day of summer in the old Icelandic calendar (which only had two seasons), and it’s -2.7°C at my house — apparently if winter and summer "freeze together" like this, it bodes well for a good summer!
