The Law School at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, based in the Lord Hope Building. We host the Strathclyde Law Clinic and the Mediation Clinic.
2 panels for Day 2 of Blackiefest: Wilson (Stair and sale), & Bogle/MacLeod (proposing a rights-based model for delict); then Hogg (causation/lost chance recovery), Chalmers (criminal courts and institutional writers) & Brodie (delict). We concluded again with Blackie's insights.

Finally for day one, Lorna Richardson analysed what she called the tombola of contractual interpretation in Scotland (including the 2025 case Glenfiddich Wind Ltd), then Hector MacQueen reflected on an attempt to form a UK Contract Code (1966-73). John Blackie then offered concluding thoughts.

Then we heard from Jonathan Ainslie (Solatium), Andrew Simpson (Spuilzie [recovery of possession] and Sinclair’s Practicks), Kenneth Norrie (sexual integrity as an independent interest), and Jonathan Brown (Negotiorum Gestio (benevolent intervention) and the protection of corpus).

The next panel featured Chathuni Jayathilaka (on sale), Laura McGregor (on imputation of knowledge in Scottish partnerships), and Elspeth Reid (on occupiers’ liability and public access to land). In this, Chathuni reflected - positively! - on her PhD viva, which Blackie examined.

The first panel featured Leslie Dodd (on why we should be legal humanists), Matt Dyson (on tort (delict) and Scots influence on English law), and Gillian Black (on introducing a new delict around domestic abuse).
