These Anan cams are pretty incredible. Most of the bears we see are black bears, who live a very dangerous life due to the perilous river boulders they fish from, and also the presence of larger brown bears like Sue. We actually saw Sue chasing black bear cubs several times this past year.

Today I'm gonna talk about a non-Brooks bear! This is Scuba Sue, a brown bear from Tongass NP in Alaska. Explore has several cams there that are overshadowed by the Brooks cams, but some of these regulars are incredible bears. Scuba Sue dives into this treacherous water to catch swimming salmon.

I went down a wikipedia rabbit hole and learned about pumpkin toadlets. These guys are less than an inch long. Some have fluorescent bones. This is my fandom now. Don't talk to me if it isn't about pumpkin toadlets.

Very very exciting sighting on the polar bear cams today: a sow with TWO yearlings!! Polar bear cubs have pretty grim survival rates for their first year, so it's very rare in this area at least to see two cubs survive. What a delight! #polarbears
