Genre screenwriter. I love cinematic gore but real blood makes me woozy. First name rhymes with “scare ‘em.” (he/him)
Just saw that it’s the 25th anniversary this year. Time to let the Grinch into your hearts, people.

Folks, the Stunt Squad is beyond burned out. We’ve had a stellar year (thanks to you) and due to most of us buried in day job fears/changes/OT, personal & family health scares, etc., we’re pushing Originals Bureau to ‘26 & skipping The Naughty List this season. See ya next year!

While I’m at it, I don’t stand for Polar Express put-downs either. That movie rips.
Every year I see slander and every year I feel compelled to say it, no matter how many friends it may cost me: Ron Howard’s Grinch is awesome. It’s so fucking funny, and it leans so hard into its bizarro, garish aesthetic that it becomes inspired. There. I said it. #filmsky

Signal boost! ✨ Anyone able to provide some recs?
#Scriptsky #Filmsky
Looking for recs for risk-taking managers for unconventional screenwriters.

I’m a Black List–recommended writer on the Top 25 Screenwriters To Watch list. I write auteur-driven, elevated genre and character-first stories with nontraditional structures, genre-bending arcs and dreamlike narratives🧵

Entering that time of year where I just want to be on a warm train traveling through the bleakest, coldest landscape imaginable. With frequent coffee breaks.

You know who was an unsung hero? The gum guy/gal. The kid in middle school or high school who always had gum and always shared. Real one.

This is such a good answer to this silly hypothetical question that I’ve been thinking about it for a whole day. The breadth of that list! #filmsky
This is a Bill Simmons game, but you’re stranded on a desert island. You can only have one actor’s filmography. You get it all, including cameos. But just the one performer.

I’m taking Cate Blanchett: Talented Mr. Ripley, LOTR, Life Aquatic, Black Bag, Tár, Ponyo, Hot Fuzz, Eyes Wide Shut, Thor

If you haven't watched ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER, maybe you should. It's an action picture with a high IQ.

The more I see companies using AI for their ads, the more I know how much I’ll be pissed off when this “free” or “cheap” method starts inevitably costing more than they could have just paid human artists.

Thinking about the journeys of Bilbo vs. Frodo and how they mirror something we’re all experiencing now. Bilbo works as an analog for the “greatest generation,” or the people who fought fascism and evil directly in open war. Frodo’s fight feels closer to ours 🧵

Hey #filmsky and #scriptsky, what are some of your Perfect Movies? Ones you love, but also that you can’t find fault with? I think mine would be Back to the Future, Jurassic Park, and The Fellowship of the Ring. Weigh in!

Some strong synergy between these two blockbusters, released less than a year apart. Both are directed by low-budget horror icons who demonstrated an insane ability to take on huge action movies. Best in their class. #filmsky

One of the reasons why EYES WIDE SHUT has become such an unlikely Christmas movie is that it’s basically the IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE of fucking. www.vulture.com/2019/06/eyes...
