It’s pointless to argue. He was the guy they chose to be the face of the WWF, and he was a big reason the company going national was a success. You can hypothesize all you want that someone else like Savage would have worked just as well or been even more successful, but there’s no way to know.

I think there’s a tendency to do things a little too self-aware anymore that goes back to Scream and Buffy.

The fact that they were offended at the mere mention of immigration is as telling as when they got offended over the writers of Rogue One comparing the Empire to the Nazis. They didn’t compare the Empire to Republicans, just Nazis.

James Gunn called Superman an immigrant and Republicans took offense to that, and you’ll notice he didn’t say illegal or undocumented immigrant. He just said immigrant. It was never about paperwork.
