The JP version of the game is a completely different server though, so if you changed your VPN to Japan and tried to make a purchase on Global the prices would likely be different

Someone sent me a screenshot of the JP version prices (which were automatically converted from JPY to USD)

2500 carats for $30.18 USD
5000 carats for $60.36 USD

According to them, the yen is super weak right now, which is why it's about 16% cheaper

I definitely think the discrepancies come from rounding to whole dollar amounts *somewhere*, since 60 carats is both $1USD and $1CAD (which is almost 30% less in CAD), whereas the most expensive option is just 2% cheaper when paying in USD compared to CAD

I initially assumed they just took the USD prices, converted into CAD, and rounded to the nearest whole number.

That would give prices of 1, 4, 8, 14, 29, 48, and 98 respectively, which is close (especially with the smaller packs) but off by 1-2 on larger packs

You *could* use this information to get a better deal (the most cost effective way if you're Canadian, not including the limited offers, is buying the 60 carat pack over and over)

But I'd recommend *not* doing that because that's still $25CAD per 10-pull which is WAYYY too much

My assumption is they took the Japanese pricing, converted it into USD/CAD, and then rounded to the nearest whole dollar amount. Sometimes they rounded up, sometimes they rounded down. CAD is just a particularly egregious example of this

60 Carats - $1 (60/dollar)
210 Carats - $3 (70/dollar)
350 Carats - $6 (58/dollar)
700 Carats - $10 (70/dollar)
1500 Carats - $21 (71.42/dollar)
2500 Carats - $34 (73.52/dollar)
5000 Carats - $70 (71.42/dollar)

Not as backwards as Canadian pricing but still really strange
