On December 4, 2007, in the Usenet group “Friends of the Friendless,” someone wrote:
“Happy Friendsgiving Y’all!”

And that is the first recorded use of ‘Friendsgiving’ in print.

I was not expecting Daleks to pop up in the season 2 premiere of MacGyver (the original)! 😂 They even shoot laser beams and talk about eliminating people.

I am honored that our show, Star Trek: Prodigy, is nominated for @theemmys.tv for both Outstanding Writing and Outstanding Multiple Role Voice Performer. I love Janeway and portraying her is a delight, in all her forms.

49 times!!! (minimum)
Federal agents used chemical weapons on Chicagoans at least 49 times — even after a judge said to stop.

Contrary to federal claims about attacks on agents, most of these incidents appear to involve nonviolent protesters or bystanders. blockclubchi.co/47PoaXb

I really like Stranger Things, but I am pissed off enough at the decision to release on three major holidays in a row (Thanksgiving, Christmas, NYE) that my excitement about season 5 is near rock bottom. I’m probably going to get spoiled because my family/friends are more important than a TV show.

Catching up on Star Trek: Lower Decks has been such a great decision. I need silly, light-hearted TV when everything else is such a mess.

You may notice that this film has a papery texture. That is because it only exists on paper.

Before film copyright was settled, studios would deposit reels of paper with each frame printed on them for registration. The Library of Congress kept them and later transferred them back to film.

Weather report from hell
Chicago may experience less tear gas use as Operation Midway Blitz winds down. Cold and wet weather reduce effectiveness, while wind adds unpredictability.

NEW — Chicago’s favorite historian Shermann “Dilla” Thomas stopped by The TRiiBE Studio with some new gold: his 2025 Chicago/Midwest Emmy Award.

“I cried later, yeah, but I’m like, ‘don’t cry on the stage,’” Dilla said. “I was literally at a loss for words.”

These people are just evil.
Astonishing: Bovino and his agents showed up at the Bean this morning to pose for pictures. While Border Patrol snapped photos, one agent shouted, “Everyone say, ‘Little Village!’” The neighborhood where they are least welcome and most acutely felt. blockclubchicago.org/2025/11/10/b...
Border Patrol Agents Pose At 'The Bean' For Apparent Photo Op
The photo op came after agents tear-gassed a Little Village street and were spotted in the area numerous times. At the Bean, one agent shouted, "Everyone say, Little Village!"

I’m going to try to have fun with my friends tonight, but it’s becoming more and more difficult when there are new terrible stories each day about what ICE/Border Patrol are doing in and around my city. A baby got tear gassed today.

The way the "free speech zones" at Broadview were put up, have been policed, and continually keep shrinking is a microcosm of what's happening to free speech in America as a country.
the current scene.

state/local police have shut down one of the “free speech” zones and are requiring all protesters to stand on the east side of beach.

the street is entirely closed to traffic yet cops arrest anyone who stands on the concrete barriers or steps into the street.

so many cops.

"The government would have people believe, instead, that the Chicagoland area is in a vice hold of violence, ransacked by rioters and attacked by agitators. That simply is untrue. And the government's own evidence in this case belies that assertion." @wttw.bsky.social
