got my parents' wedding silverware set cleaned, listed last night, & it sold already. thinking of my mother selecting the pattern, and her china pattern, so hopeful at 18 years old.

devastated dresser drawer vs what it should look like, the matching dresser I use now. I just feel sick about it.
a long dresser drawer eaten by mold, the pieces of veneer separated. the color is a grey-ish brown. a gorgeous dresser with with rich, reddish brown wood and brass handles.

couple months back, I ordered a Dill plant along with my groceries, for delivery. They substituted this Asparagus Fern, I guess it looks similar, but doesn't taste good on my salad!
A green Asparagus Fern in a small 4" black pot. it looks feathery, like dill. sort-of!

I am sad so many old books got ruined by broken ceiling/water/mold. it seems the oldest books with cloth covers attracted the most mold. I'm freezing them for 48 hrs first then trying different methods of cleaning. even 'The Amateur Taxidermist' ...moldy!
books in an opened cardboard box, including 'The Amateur Taxidermist' that my father had, the title always struck me as funny. several 100 year old plus books lying on top of a soggy box. there are several colors of mold growing on them, gray, light green and white.

re: yesterday's sale of wide 70s snap-on ties, I asked the buyer what they planned for them & they said a friend of theirs just began working at a hotel & needed to dress up more, they needed ties. fingers crossed they work for them!
3 men's polyester Snap-on ties from 1970s, my Dad used to wear on sales calls, a mustard-colored, red one in center & blue-green on right. ruler in photos to show the red one is 4" wide at bottom!

I found a buyer for the 17 Genuine Snap-On Polyester ties my father wore as a salesman in 70s/80s. And they are hideous! I have to ask her what she's doing with them. some days I feel like I can sell anything, it is so nice to match unique items with someone who'll cherish them.
5 men's ties, one is pale yellow with white circles, one is green and Super Shiny! one is navy with red print, next is the color of Super-Shiny dog poop, the last is pale blue & yellow small check print.

a stack of legal size manilla folders full of newspaper clippings. they are organized roughly into History/Cemeteries/Churches, Navy Pier, etc.

hello friends, can anyone me help identify these? My father saved WW2 ephemera, (these were in a folder with a few items about WW2 & Japanese art), but I'm not positive that these relate to the war. one has diagrams of how to put an injured arm in a sling? thanks in advance for any help!

1978 St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church calendar.
printed in Italy, beautiful artwork of Mary & baby Jesus on the front. The calendar pages are tear-off, and that paper is yellowed/aged. Free to a good home! I'm in Berwyn.

there is a teeny tiny pair of gold metal tweezers that comes with this pill box. It was missing & I just found it again, it is too cute for words. about 1" long funky vintage pill box, closed. the cover looks like enamel or porcelain, it is off-white with groovy blue daisies.

you guys- the apt. across the hall where I have been staying due to my apt having a flooded floor-- it is now flooding in here too! wherever there was more weight on the livingroom floor, there are now puddles; just found it today when my box of magazines got wet. !@#$%^&*!!!!
livingroom floor i the temporary apt, suddenly today I have found puddles of clear water, and seams of the linoleum floor tile are wet & buckling. this phoo shows wet bottom of magazine box & buckled floor tiles In front of my desk, I have a plastic bin with my PT equipment & weights. it seems like it is flooding first in spots where there is more weight on the floor. this shows reflection of a large puddle when I moved the weight box.
