If you are accused of something awful, and the punishment is homelessness or a cage, and you don't have a defense, and the accusation is enough to satisfy society you deserve everything done to you, no one who can be put in your position has any rights at all worth a damn.

If we get out of this, the DOE could use a restructuring. IDEA is a great idea, but not ideal. It's never served the disabled as well as it should. In my career as a teacher, I never saw a student with an IEP actually get the instruction time allotted. Or adequate classroom support for inclusion.

Would you rather live in a world where AI cured cancer or live in a world where you personally get to do science?

But that's not the dilemma we face at all. There's no cause to think that AI could do anything of the sort.
