TRUMP, EPSTEIN, & THE GOP CONGRESS
The government’s not nearly shut down enough. Lawmakers are still strutting around on camera, collecting paychecks, while not doing the jobs they were hired/elected to do. ICE gets to keep wreaking mayhem. The president still gets to inflame the country by shanghaiing the National Guard to attack his own citizens. And the most incompetent administration ever gets to keep cosplaying as responsible leaders. Is it any wonder that we remain focused on the one true thing that manages to unite us all? Trump/Epstein. Well, everyone except the GOP Congress that is. They remain firmly on the side of coverup. Or not? The latest today… Citing talks with GOP counterparts, Rep. Eric Swalwell suggested that House Republicans’ support for President Trump in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal is collapsing. “It’s coming to an end guys,” Swalwell wrote on X. “I’ve spoken to a lot of House Republicans this week and they’ve confided that Trump’s movement/support is fading. As one told me, ‘this Epstein bomb is about to drop and no want wants to defend a pedo-protector. It’s just a matter of time.’ ” Trump continues to cast suspicion on himself by calling the Epstein files a “hoax.” But it wasn’t a hoax when he called for their release over and over on the campaign trail. And promised he would do just that if elected. Psyche. Attorney General Pam Bondi strongly hinted she had a list to expose powerful clients of Epstein who might be mentioned in the files, but later said there was no list. Double psyche. The recent election of a new Democratic House Rep. Adelita Grijalva would be the tipping point vote to force the release of government documents. But Speaker Johnson has refused to swear her in blaming the shutdown. The speaker told Democrats who confronted him on the matter Wednesday, “We’re going to do that as soon as we get back to work, but we need the lights turned back on, so we encourage both of you to go open the government.”  Not a psyche. Just a disingenuous lie. Republican Rep Thomas Massie, who is leading the charge to release the Epstein files, posted on X on Sunday:"Why are we in recess? Because the day we go back into session, I have 218 votes for the discharge petition to force a vote on releasing the Epstein files." If sex abuse of minor children has become a wishy-washy topic not worthy of investigation because it might be inconvenient or damaging to power, we really have lost our way as a country.

Urgent Action Needed: Protect Privacy and Reproductive Rights
The recent case of a Texas woman being investigated after exercising her right to choose has exposed a dangerous intersection of invasive surveillance technology and the erosion of reproductive rights. This alarming incident demands your immediate attention and action. Two weeks after a woman in Texas had an abortion, law enforcement initiated a "death investigation" using a vast network of over 83,000 automated license plate reading cameras. This search extended across state lines, even into jurisdictions where abortion remains legal. The scale and reach of this surveillance are deeply troubling, especially given that Sheriff Adam King and Flock Safety, the technology provider, initially mischaracterized the timing and nature of the investigation. This case starkly illustrates how law enforcement and tech companies can track individuals without their knowledge or consent, posing a severe threat to privacy rights. The sharing of automatic license plate reader data across state lines not only puts abortion seekers at risk but may also violate privacy laws in certain states. As your constituent, I urge you to take immediate action to protect both privacy rights and reproductive freedom. We need legislation that restricts the use of surveillance technologies like automated license plate readers, especially for tracking individuals exercising their reproductive rights. Additionally, we must strengthen protections for women's right to choose at the federal level to prevent such egregious overreach by local law enforcement. The clock is ticking. With each passing day, more individuals may be subjected to this invasive surveillance. I implore you to introduce or support legislation addressing these issues before the next legislative session. Our privacy and bodily autonomy are at stake. Act now to ensure that technology is not weaponized against our fundamental rights.

Urgent Action Needed: Impeach and Remove Donald Trump
The impeachment and removal of Donald Trump from office is a matter of utmost urgency for the safety and integrity of our democracy. As your constituent, I implore you to take immediate action to initiate impeachment proceedings. The gravity of this situation cannot be overstated. Trump's actions have consistently undermined the foundations of our democratic system. Since his first day in office on January 20, 2017, organizations like Free Speech For People and RootsAction have been sounding the alarm about his violations of the Constitution, particularly the Emoluments Clauses. These concerns are not isolated. Over 1.4 million Americans have signed petitions calling for an impeachment investigation, demonstrating widespread public support for holding Trump accountable. Furthermore, seventeen cities across our nation have passed local resolutions urging for an impeachment inquiry, showcasing the depth of concern at the community level. The need for impeachment extends beyond the Emoluments Clause violations. Trump's pattern of abusing power has expanded to include numerous other offenses that threaten the very fabric of our republic. The "Impeach Trump Again" campaign, launched on January 20, 2025, highlights ongoing Emoluments Clause violations and unlawful practices during the 2024 election campaign, indicating that these issues persist and have potentially worsened. Time is of the essence. Every day that passes without action emboldens Trump and increases the risk to our democratic institutions. I urge you to act swiftly, working with your colleagues to initiate impeachment proceedings immediately. The future of our nation depends on your courage and commitment to upholding the Constitution. Please, do not delay. Our democracy hangs in the balance, and your constituents are counting on you to take decisive action. Impeach Donald Trump now, before irreparable damage is done to our country's democratic foundations.

However, her statements have also often drawn a distinction between the National Guard and other federal agencies, and have emphasized that the overall federal presence was "not working" in terms of community trust, despite the statistical reductions.  Bowser's Stance on Crime and Federal Assistance  Mayor Bowser's comments have been nuanced and context-dependent:  • Acknowledgment of Reductions: During periods when federal assets were deployed, particularly a surge initiated by President Donald Trump in August 2025, Bowser acknowledged a reduction in specific serious crimes, such as an reported 87% drop in carjackings over a 20-day period, and fewer homicides and gun crimes. • Distinction on Role: Bowser has often clarified that she does not regard the National Guard as a traditional law enforcement agency and has emphasized that other federal agencies like the DEA and FBI were more effective in directly enhancing police services than the National Guard was. The National Guard's role was sometimes seen as more supportive rather than direct policing. • Concerns over Trust: Despite acknowledging the drop in numbers, Bowser has also strongly criticized the manner of the federal deployment, stating that the presence of "masked ICE agents and National Guard members from other states in communities 'has not worked'" and caused a "break in trust between police and community".  In summary, Mayor Bowser has acknowledged that crime statistics improved during periods of federal intervention, which included the National Guard, but she has also been careful to distinguish the roles of different federal entities and has expressed concerns about the overall impact on community relations. ~ Goggle AI

When you bow to Trump, this is what we see.
IWe don't recognize what you are turning our country into: CHARLES PIERCE WRITES: “In my life, I have watched John Kennedy talk on television about missiles in Cuba. I saw Lyndon Johnson look Richard Russell squarely in the eye and and say, "And we shall overcome." I saw Richard Nixon resign and Gerald Ford tell the Congress that our long national nightmare was over. I saw Jimmy Carter talk about malaise and Ronald Reagan talk about a shining city on a hill. I saw George H.W. Bush deliver the eulogy for the Soviet bloc, and Bill Clinton comfort the survivors of Timothy McVeigh's madness in Oklahoma City. I saw George W. Bush struggle to make sense of it all on September 11, 2001, and I saw Barack Obama sing 'Amazing Grace' in the wounded sanctuary of Mother Emanuel Church in Charleston, South Carolina. "These were the presidents of my lifetime. These were not perfect men. They were not perfect presidents, god knows. Not one of them was that. But they approached the job, and they took to the podium, with all the gravitas they could muster as appropriate to the job. They tried, at least, to reach for something in the presidency that was beyond their grasp as ordinary human beings. They were not all ennobled by the attempt, but they tried nonetheless. "And comes now this hopeless, vicious buffoon, and the audience of equally hopeless and vicious buffoons who laughed and cheered when he made sport of a woman whose lasting memory of the trauma she suffered is the laughter of the perpetrators. Now he comes, a man swathed in scandal, with no interest beyond what he can put in his pocket and what he can put over on a universe of suckers, and he does something like this while occupying an office that we gave him, and while endowed with a public trust that he dishonors every day he wakes up in the White House. "The scion of a multigenerational criminal enterprise, the parameters of which we are only now beginning to comprehend. A vessel for all the worst elements of the American condition. And a cheap, soulless bully besides. We never have had such a cheap counterfeit of a president* as currently occupies the office. We never have had a president* so completely deserving of scorn and yet so small in the office that it almost seems a waste of time and energy to summon up the requisite contempt. "Watch how a republic dies in the empty eyes of an empty man who feels nothing but his own imaginary greatness, and who cannot find in himself the decency simply to shut up even when it is in his best interest to do so. Presidents don't have to be heroes to be good presidents. They just have to realize that their humanity is our common humanity, and that their political commonwealth is our political commonwealth, too. Watch him behind the seal of the President of the United States. Isn't he a funny man? Isn't what happened to that lady hilarious? Watch the assembled morons cheer. This is the only story now"

Whose side are you on?! Why are you so against Americans having healthcare?
The conventional wisdom is always right until it’s not. In Washington, the conventional wisdom on government shutdowns was that they backfire on the party that’s out of power. Heading into the current shutdown, Capitol Hill insiders and other so-called experts warned Democrats that they would be fools to pick a budget fight now. As the shutdown enters its second week, it’s clear that the pundits got this one wrong. Democrats are winning the shutdown fight in the court of public opinion because they aren’t holding out for some abstract principle or unreasonable demand. Instead, they are fighting to keep millions of people from seeing their health insurance premiums skyrocket as Affordable Care Act subsidies expire. Republicans could have avoided this fight if they had extended the subsidies earlier this year. The longer the shutdown drags on, the more foolish they look for opposing something so popular and necessary. Republicans know that, which is why they have tried to muddy the waters with falsehoods, pushing the false claim that Democrats want health care for undocumented immigrants. That kind of sleazy sloganeering might work in a legislative fight that Americans aren’t watching closely, but it wilts under the bright lights of a shutdown. Republicans are left looking unserious. Even Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., hardly a moderate voice in her party, is now signaling openness to a deal to preserve those ACA subsidies, while independent Sen. Angus King of Maine has indicated he may not keep voting with Republicans on a bill to reopen the government if they don’t get serious about health care costs. Normally at this point in a shutdown, the defections would be toward reopening the government. The fact that they are happening on the other side shows how effective the pressure of a disciplined Democratic strategy has been. Which side are you on?!

Please Oppose Current ICE Policies
I am writing as a constituent from Norwood to express my strong opposition to the current policies and practices of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). I am deeply concerned about the humanitarian, legal, and ethical implications of how ICE is currently operating. Reports of family separations, prolonged detentions—including of children—and the treatment of asylum seekers raise serious questions about whether these actions align with our nation’s values and with fundamental human rights. I believe we can and must pursue immigration enforcement that respects human dignity and due process. I urge you to: • Publicly oppose harmful enforcement actions being carried out by ICE. • Support legislation that prioritizes alternatives to detention, ensures humane treatment of all migrants, and upholds the right to seek asylum. • Work to increase oversight of ICE to ensure transparency and accountability. • Advocate for comprehensive immigration reform that addresses the root causes of migration and creates fair pathways to legal status. As your constituent, I want to see our community represented in a way that reflects compassion, justice, and adherence to constitutional protections. I ask you to use your influence to stand against policies that dehumanize vulnerable people and to promote solutions that uphold the best of our nation’s values.

THE AMERICAN EXPERIMENT WILL FAIL WITHOUT GOP ACTION
The Texas National Guard is in Illinois. Why? We know, they know, you know there is no crisis in Chicago that makes it necessary for the Trump administration to send in National Guard troops. Any instability in Chicago has been caused by the surge of federal agents into the city, where they shot and killed Chicago resident Silverio Villegas González; raided and ransacked an apartment building, leaving residents—including U.S. citizens and children—bound outside for hours; shot an unarmed woman, Marimar Martinez; and aimed a weapon at a resident who was simply recording what the agent was doing. In each case, the government initially insisted the federal agents either were under attack or were rounding up “the worst of the worst,” but subsequent information has showed the federal agents were the aggressors in each situation. In fact, before Trump ordered troops into the city, federal agents described the small protests at the ICE facility as “low energy,” consisting of people standing in front of vehicles, raising a middle finger, and playing loud music. Federal agents have held journalists, who are now suing ICE and DHS for the use of “extreme force” against them, and pummeled them with tear gas and pepper spray. Local police chief Thomas Mills has testified that the “use of chemical agents by federal agents at the ICE facility in Broadview has often been arbitrary and indiscriminate. At times it is used when the crowd is as small as ten people.” We see what is happening. The Trump administration is deliberately trying to cause chaos, create fear and confusion, make it seem like peaceful protesters are a mob by firing gas pellets and tear gas canisters at them. Why? To create the pretext for invoking the Insurrection Act so that he can send military troops to blue cities. Before the 2026 election. Trump-whisperer Stephen Miller is reportedly having increasingly serious conversations about having Trump invoke the act. Are you really willing to have this destruction to America happen on your watch? Because it is happening. The time for discounting the reality that is playing out is long gone. The GOP Congress needs to do their jobs. Work for the country you took an oath to. And if you really believe that everything that is happening is good and right and normal, then we are already a failed experiment in democracy. And it happened so very quickly.

Urge Caution in Praising Trump for Middle East Ceasefire
I am writing to express my deep concern about the recent praise directed at former President Trump for his role in the ceasefire deal between Netanyahu's government and Hamas. While the deal itself is a positive step, particularly in securing the return of hostages and halting civilian casualties in Gaza, I strongly believe that we must not lose sight of Trump's ongoing controversial actions and policies. It is crucial to remember that Trump has deployed troops against American cities, violated constitutional rights, and boasted about the internment and torture of undocumented individuals. He has actively worked to suppress free speech, threatened judges, and engaged in extrajudicial killings. These actions are fundamentally at odds with our democratic values and the rule of law. Furthermore, Trump has cut vital foreign aid programs and is currently embroiled in serious allegations, including potential involvement in a sex trafficking operation. These issues demand our attention and should not be overshadowed by a single diplomatic achievement. I urge you to maintain a balanced perspective on Trump's legacy and current actions. While acknowledging positive outcomes where they occur, it is essential that we do not allow them to eclipse the numerous destructive behaviors and policies that continue to threaten our democracy and international standing. As my representative, I ask that you speak out against the tendency to overlook Trump's ongoing misconduct. We must hold all public figures accountable, regardless of party affiliation or isolated achievements. Our focus should remain on upholding the Constitution, protecting civil liberties, and promoting ethical governance both at home and abroad. Thank you for your attention to this critical matter. I look forward to seeing your public stance on this issue and your commitment to maintaining a clear-eyed view of Trump's overall impact on our nation.

Urge Supreme Court to Clarify Presidential Power Limits
The actions of the current administration pose a significant threat to the foundational principles of our democracy. I am deeply concerned about the President's persistent efforts to test the boundaries of executive power, undermine democratic institutions, and express open contempt for both the legislative and judicial branches of our government. Our system of checks and balances is under unprecedented strain. The President's attempts to silence dissent, crack down on civilian protests, and corrupt the justice system strike at the heart of our constitutional rights. These actions not only violate the spirit of the First Amendment but also threaten the very fabric of our democratic society. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has documented numerous instances where the current administration has attacked the Constitution, including military interventions against peaceful protesters and the targeting of political critics. These actions represent a dangerous erosion of civil liberties and the rule of law. In light of these alarming developments, I urge you to call upon the Supreme Court to take a more active role in interpreting the law and clearly delineating the limits of presidential power within our three-branch system of government. The Court's guidance is crucial in preserving the delicate balance of power that has sustained our democracy for centuries. The integrity of our constitutional framework depends on robust checks on executive authority. Without clear judicial intervention, we risk further degradation of our democratic norms and institutions. The Supreme Court must fulfill its vital role as a co-equal branch of government by providing definitive rulings that reaffirm the boundaries of presidential power and protect the rights of all Americans. I implore you to use your position to advocate for the Supreme Court's engagement on this critical issue. The future of our democracy and the preservation of our constitutional rights hang in the balance. Timely action is essential to prevent further erosion of our system of governance and to ensure that the United States remains a nation governed by laws, not by the whims of any single individual or office.

Promote Acceptance of Transgender Individuals to Strengthen Families
I am writing to express my deep concern about the alarming lack of acceptance faced by transgender individuals in our society, particularly within their own families. Recent data from a Pew Research survey reveals a troubling reality: only 31% of transgender adults report being accepted by their parents, compared to over 50% for gay and lesbian individuals. This disparity in acceptance has severe consequences. Research consistently shows that family support is crucial for the mental health and well-being of LGBTQ+ youth. When families are accepting, rates of suicide, depression, and substance abuse among LGBTQ+ youth decrease significantly. However, the current climate of misinformation and fear-mongering, often propagated by far-right groups targeting parents, is tearing families apart and putting lives at risk. The statistics are stark: while 58% of transgender individuals report acceptance from siblings and friends, only 24% experience acceptance from coworkers, and a mere 11% from extended family. This lack of support turns homes into battlegrounds, leaving many transgender individuals without crucial family connections. I urge you to take immediate action to counter this harmful trend. We need legislation that promotes education and awareness about transgender experiences, counters misinformation, and supports families in accepting their transgender members. Additionally, I ask that you speak out against rhetoric that demonizes transgender individuals and instead use your platform to encourage acceptance and understanding. By fostering a more inclusive society, we can strengthen families, improve mental health outcomes, and create a safer environment for all transgender individuals. The time to act is now – before more families are torn apart by fear and misinformation. Our community's well-being depends on your leadership in promoting acceptance and dispelling harmful myths about transgender people.
