It might not map! The central idea is just that community structure (such as you would get from balkanisation) can promote cascades… but it’s all for very specific forms of information spread.

Yeah, great question. In an earlier draft we pointed towards a classic network science-y result that suggests greater balkanisation -> more easily influenced, but this is only one very specific “lens” through which to look at the problem. academic.oup.com/jcr/article-...
