Pokemon Legends ZA has the most promising development for a modern game in the series, and I've spent the last few months on a video dissecting why.

knowing the ZA video was written months ago but everything I wrote about it came true in later previews and trailers

the first time we've ever seen Zygarde be a part of the Pokemon ZA story and it fucking jumps the player

If you're at Pokémon Worlds or know someone who is, help us preserve the Legends ZA demo build by recording as MUCH as possible!!

Now that I can finally do archival again, here's a high quality scan of Ken Sugimori's Encyclopedia art from a year after Pokémon's release!!!

one thing I've seen nobody mention is Pokemon Legends ZA seems to have a real photo mode for the first time in the series

really miss when pokemon games had speed tied to your critical hit chance. they made certain guys completely centered around that concept and it fucking rules

The new Pokémon TCG Pocket Immersive Ho-Oh artwork appears to be traced from 2021 fan-art by lanjiujiu.

Entire perspective, wing shape and overall feather size are largely identical.

Holy shit, turns out the Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire scenario art (with white hair Brendan) wasn't drawn by Ken Sugimori, but Hironobu Yoshida instead.

We've translated a 7,000-word interview on the heruclean development behind the models of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.

Just a single Pokémon can require up to 60 unique animations alone.

Still astounded that Sugimori effortlessly made the perfect Pokemon protagonist designs nearly 25 years ago.

completely unique animation for Captain Pikachu from the latest pokemon arcade game is adorable wtf

A couple weeks ago, someone made me aware of public posts (NOT a leak) by a Pokémon Champions staff member, which revealed a lot about the state of its development from the very beginning.

Prior to January 2024, Champions' pre-production development was in a troubled state.

One frustrating aspect of Pokémon SV's Switch 2 patch was no fix to the HORRENDOUSLY slow UI, even though they've acknowledged it in past updates.

>only important non-Pokemon characters with no drawn key art
>appear around the map postgame literally just to waste your time
>interrupt the story just to recap the game's existing themes
what the actual FUCK was their problem

if we're talking hot takes Pokemon games might be worse with voice acting
zero confidence in good direction from a modern Nintendo game and their talented VAs would feel completely wasted
July 4, 2025 at 6:54 PM
sucks to witness Pokemon's horrendous production schedule but all of Takaboshi's new animation for Penny looks fucking gas
July 4, 2025 at 11:22 AM
tatsugiri bag is the first good customization to ever be added to pokemon go im dead serious
July 3, 2025 at 8:55 PM
How would you rank the last four Pokemon games on Nintendo Switch? 🤔
- Scarlet & Violet
- Legends Arceus
- Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories
- Sword & Shield

this Sugimori design feels like a weird fucked up timeline where Serena was in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl
June 30, 2025 at 5:48 PM
really need to know who was responsible for the Pokemon BDSP renders. i just want to talk
June 29, 2025 at 11:57 AM
thought about this for a while. these three might genuinely be the most unpopular Pokémon to exist

Full comparison of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet on Switch 2 is what I expected but shame it isn't a lot more.

4K Resolution, higher frame rate, marginally better LOD, and GAME FREAK have raised the amount of wild Pokémon that can appear at one time. fuck bluesky's resolution scaling btw
