From a couple of years back. Great fun!

Here's a small export from the scanner (reduced output size, but the original scan is great!). Very happy with it.

Some Sunday evening sketching in pencil.

Love the older looking GW stuff!

Went to a little model village nearish to us. Nice weather for it!

Going to try and do a few little drawings or paintings based on our visit!

Bit of controller history (kinda) here;

The MPC Fly. I bought it for my iPad and made some early beats on it.

Currently boxing a lot of my samplers and controllers away. MPC wise I have this, the mpc1000 and Live 2.

Happy memories!

Sorting out some of my old games, found this boxes DK64. It says no expansion pack but I remember it had one in there, as I have the plastic bit from the N64 in the box.

This was seen as expensive when I bought it (got a discount though!).

Playing around with some heightfields again.

I find it pretty relaxing and fun. Here I've gone for some kind of microscope image. Hopefully giving a sense of it being zoomed in to maybe the surface of a tiny pebble.

Need to get back to model building and painting, but these kits are great fun.

Just note the plastics really don't like some paints (hence the crack in the front plate, which is now a stylistic choice).

Painted it as if it was posted in an autumnal England.

Here are a couple of photos from it. This was for the animation and rigging team for The Lion King (the CG one).

Such a fun workshop. Gary Faigin was awesome!

Made a vegan soda bread.

Buttermilk is usually used for soda bread (and isn't that common to get any more), but you can replace that with oat milk and apple cider vinegar.

Messy but easy to make, tastes lovely with butter and perfect soup bread!

Really need to stop ripping the paper with the tape!

Here's a little watercolour bear I painted today! 🐻

(Cheapish paper and cheap very sticky masking tape, hence the rips).

A couple of paintings from today. Watercolour. Sadly the masking tape I'm using is tearing the paper up.

Fun art studies!

Bought a little watercolour palette and gone for a kind of warm & cool selection.

Only used watercolours once before but think it will help with limited time between other bits & work!

After continuing to look at Bonner's work. I did a quick study to test the new bristle brushes in Rebelle 8 (early access).

Pencils are my own based on Bonner's various work (simplified!) and then paintover in Rebelle.

Top is just water based mediums, bottom is a mix of water, dry and oil themed.

"I am serious. And don't call me Shirley."

Painted in the early access version of Rebelle 8.

Great fun to paint this!

(dunno if this is the right way to thread, but hopefully it's helpful to others).

Cleaning the front label improvements: Mild neutral face wipes do a great job! I'm using cucumber cleansing wipes on it just to get grime off (even that will still be too abrasive if rough).

Things I've learned so far:

Regular erasers are great for getting sticky residue off the back label

The front label doesn't have much protection on it, so most things will sadly fade the label (I tried a few different approaches).

Magic eraser & water works really well for the grey plastic

Gonna give these a bit of a clean today. I have a smallish N64 collection (a few dupes in there). Nothing too rare (I don't think?!).

Love the form factor of N64 cartridges, chunky!

Looking forward to the new FPGA offerings on the way!

For #vfx & #sfx fans; these 2 books are great behind the scenes looks, and both are great examples of a good collaboration and blend of practical and digital stuff.

Worth a read if you can still get them!

I was a huge Saturn fan as a kid, but the boxes we had in PAL regions were naff.

Very few are in one piece, and rarely will they stay closed. Way worse than jewel cases. The CD always fell out.

This is my most pristine remaining box (with the game in).

Tactical RPG fun!

Love going through these old boxes of stuff.

A Pillars of Eternity hip flask, anyone?

You got so much free stuff working in games (a lot of this stuff was from Gamescom mind). In film we had to pay for everything (unless it was a cool show!)

Perfect reading material for the train back to Notts.

On the hunt for some of my old art books/comics to see what I can recover there (cheaper than buying/rebuying new art stuff/comics!)

Does anyone's palette end up like this when painting?

Always start with the best intentions at least!
