Today I submitted my request to the Oklahoma State Board of Education to reject the draft information literacy standards that were created with zero input from certified school librarians. Our students deserve better.
AASL has launched a new phase of research into the supporting content of the #AASLstandards with a set of online surveys for school librarians and collaborators, open November 6-20. standards.aasl.org/research

I just finished @kalynnbayron.bsky.social’s _You’re Not Supposed to Die Tonight_. I highly recommend it! The main character Charity is one of the strongest final girls in the genre. And the twists! Superb!
Show your principal the AASL National Standards frameworks for learners, librarians, and libraries. Then demonstrate how these standards are being addressed in your “loud” library.
I just finished it. I think it a great spooky tale for grades 5-7.
