I haven't tried this, but might it be possible to use a VRT file in a local 'favourites' folder as a kind-of shortcut to a remote datasource?

The downloadable dataset for Wales doesn't include designation date, and that for England is missing a date for about 16% of records. Only Scotland's is complete. The Wales dates could probably be acquired by web scraping though.

I always need two folders for any big project. Anything that can go on the cloud (OneDrive) does. Huge files go on a dedicated local SSD. It’s a bit of a pain, but the benefits of the online cloud for the files that do go on there are massive.

Might this be that 'Langdon' self-styled detective character? He thinks Offas's Dyke is a canal despite climbing hills at about ~45° (gradient estimate based on walking it with a hangover).
