Having all the stabilizing or correcting features, including insoles, in some shoes can cause your feet not to be able to adjust to how they land. Each person walks differents. Hence the different wear patterns in our shoes.
Letting your ankle move how they wants will strengthen them. #runchat

The science behind barefoot and minimalist footwear running is super interesting. Basically, since your get feedback (the nerves get the proper feeling) you step much lighter. This causes less pressure through your whole body and less time in contact with the ground. #runchat

Right. You can't just switch overnight. A lot of things need to lengthen and get stronger. I got plantar fasciitis when I first transitioned. Then after almost a year of solid walking, also have an autoimmune disease that wasn't well treated, I haven't had a running injury since. #runchat

You can take precautions and still have a life. I mask on public transit, large sporting events, and while shopping. School is fairly safe since there are few outsiders that come.

The death rate in humans is 50% and there is not vaccine. Who's gonna start wearing a mask in public places you don't regularly visit, with the same people?
