This beautiful harbor seal was just lounging on a rock during my recent trip to Maine. A few dozen were swimming nearby as I kayaked in Morgan Bay. Thankfully there were no sharks hunting.

@learnreligions.bsky.social at #NCCSS25 talks about the complexity of teaching about holidays. How do you do it equitably? I'd add, focus on education, not celebrating, and understand that Hanukkah is minor Jewish holiday. Teach about Yom Kippur too.

Sixty five years ago, four African American college students from Greensboro, NC did a sit-in at Woolworths. Their protest to integrate the lunch counter led to more civil rights protests. Today I toured the museum inside Woolworths. This history is forever important to learn.

I rode @amtrak.com for the first times in years yesterday and loved it. I got work done, sipped my iced tea and enjoyed the scenery. I even liked the snack from the much improved food selections. Looking forward to riding again.
