I'm going to have to qualify this post, turns out that Qualtrics made some *choices* regarding the appropriateness of ANOVA. There's still some significant results, but these numbers are wrong.

An important note: Black voices were very underrepresented in the data (n=17). Given that many of the terms stem from AAVE, I'm considering recruiting Black LGBT+ english speakers for interviews separate from the survey, since that is not my community to speak for. I'll keep y'all updated on that.

The survey received 744 responses, 398 of which are complete.

For the whole dataset, there appears to be a statistically significant relationship between the self-rate familiarity and age (p < 0.00001, Cohen's f: 0.526).

Of course! Shoot me an email and I’ll make sure to keep y’all in the loop!

My current plan to is to manually bin responses as asexual if and only if the open ended response was “asexual” with no additional info (~ 5 ace responses were collected prior to the correction) and disclose that in the paper, however any input on a better way to handle this is obviously welcome.

This was an error in the design when I switched the format from the Kinsey scale prior to launching — I’ve contacted the IRB and was given permission to correct it- as of 10:08 am it should be fixed!
