"To use current policy scenarios in order to justify the repeal of current policies (as the EPA is attempting to do) rests on a fundamentally flawed premise. If the world actively repeals climate policies – which the US proposes doing – it would potentially push us to a higher emissions scenario."

Loggers are trained on preserving old-growth forests. There has been some movement to reduce some of those standards, in order to move faster, and this is where we have to keep working with the logger training community to keep those standards in place. - Ann M. Bartuska, Ph.D. #CCL2025

There are some community-based programs where people are taken through a forest to see and really understand the impact of forest management practices. One thing that people enjoy is, under controlled conditions, setting a little prescribed burn themselves. - Ann M. Bartuska, Ph.D. #CCL2025

New tracking technology lets us analyze a fire in real time and determine within 20 minutes if it's a beneficial fire and we should let it burn, or whether we need to fight it. Fix our Forests Act has funding for that technology. -- Ann M. Bartuska, Ph.D. #CCL2025

Jenn Tyler: Given the influence of the administration, how effective are our conversations with members of Congress?

Brandon Farris: Thankfully, President Trump also wants permitting reform. He wants it for oil and gas, but you can't do it without 60 votes in the Senate.

Jenn Tyler: What do you say to Democrats who are worried about permitting reform in this moment?

Brandon Farris: I would say, it has to be bipartisan. Make sure your voice is heard.
