I felt very lucky to congratulate Joe and Mary Martorelli on their Sicilian Heritage Award of Distinction, because they insisted on making me an authentic espresso, feeding me homemade cookies, and best of all, sharing stories from 53 years of marriage. (He made suits for Don Cherry!)

Happy 100th birthday to Elsie Moreton! She says a nice quiet life on Hamilton Mountain, with annual trips to the East Coast, contributed to her longevity. You would never guess she has seen a whole century go by.

A strong, prosperous Canada means collaboration, like today's critical mineral investment in St. Thomas, where I stood as the Federal rep alongside Premier Ford, Mayor Preston and Vianode to reveal a project that will create jobs and support many industries, from manufacturing to defence.

Some of my most memorable stories as a reporter happened with the people and programs that came as Indwell developed Parkdale Landing and McQuesten Lofts; paragons of supportive housing that have transformed many lives. (1/2)

For more than 30 years, Hamilton Mountain's Cancer Assistance Program has been driving patients and caregivers to appointments and giving them vital equipment and supplies. I was grateful to gather to celebrate and support this incredible team, who make cancer less lonely, and less costly.

The Poppy Fund supports Veterans and their families. At the Legion’s table at Lime Ridge Mall, it was heartening to see many youth & young adults pick up a poppy as a way to honour our fallen veterans.
