The painting “Young Lady with Drawing Instruments” (1816) by Carl Christian Vogel von Vogelstein was seized by the Nazis in 1938 from the Jewish Rosauer sisters, two of whom were later murdered in Treblinka. It was restituted decades later and returned to the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden.

„Unnamed history“

I created a photo archive of people in Dresden during the Nazi era. Dresden often emphasizes its victimhood from the Allied bombing, but it was also a stronghold of National Socialism, with many sharing these ideals, which is clearly visible in the photos.

Für mich ist die „Internationale“ ein Symbol für Solidarität und Zusammenhalt. Jeden Morgen poste ich eine von mir interpretierte Form der Internationalen, um den Tag mit dieser Sicherheit und Hoffnung zu beginnen. Nur durch gemeinsamen Zusammenhalt können wir ein Bollwerk gegen rechts errichten.

In this installation, titled Sit Down and Face the Wind, I worked with nautical flags and footage of massive warships steering against the wind. The entire installation aims to draw attention to the shift to the right and emphasizes the importance of actively standing against it.

My art performance challenges gender inequality by walking through malls with a screen displaying diverse breasts, completing ads where men appear shirtless.

In many cultures, they’re normal, but in Europe, they’re overly sexualized.
