I collect / sell vintage postcards. This 1957 one reminds me to be thankful for the POLIO VACCINE I was given as a kid. Best sugar cube ever.

I can't remember who recommended Tracie Laymon's BOB TREVINO LIKES IT, but I loved it through and through. Avail on Hulu now. Give yourself a treat.

For folks who like to do a good deed, ALT TEXT is about the easiest one you can do and it helps the sight-impaired.

If you change settings to *require* it on images you post, it will be second nature in no time.

Woo hoo! This is a big boost! Congrats to Lisa Lutes and Phoenix Black, too! We can be newbie members together! (I have now used up my daily allotment of exclamation points, but it was worth it.)

My yard is crispy brown, with one bright exception.

GARDEN TIP: Easy way to dry herbs.
1. Stuff herbs in *paper* lunch sacks and label.
2. Gather sacks into a shopping bag.
3. When dry, fill your spice jars.
Less messy than tying in bundles or drying on racks. I've been doing this for years.

I saw Wallace Ford on a TV show and was reminded that he played the cabby in HARVEY. When the cabby explains to Elwood's sister how he will change after being cured, it's a perfect scene in a perfect movie. Written by Mary Chase. #scriptsky

As we mourn the impending death of Coverfly, let us celebrate its life by sharing our top-ranked scripts...

Or your lowest ranked ones for shits and giggles, go nuts.

Donating expired perishables is disgusting. However, pet food is apparently appreciated in this neck of the woods:

I gave to a scriptwriter/artist friend's GoFundMe and he's sending me a print of one of his artworks as a thank you. I chose this one of Harry Dean Stanton. Isn't it cool? Win-win.

How sad to see a friend/neighbor's trove hauled off. Last year I found myself buying a deceased stranger's art portfolio at an estate sale. Maybe it's existential dread or I'm a sap (or both), but I couldn't walk away.

At brother's urging, I watched this last night. I would object to Wallach playing Calvera if this were made today, but for 1960, it's a rollicking good Western classic.

Hitched another ride with Alfred tonight. I wish there had been more chemistry between Newman and Andrews, but a lot of fun twists and turns.

My dad worked ~20 years running programs to hire and promote women and minorities in the USPS. As DEI collapses countrywide, I look back with sadness. If he were there today, he'd be laid off and his work dismantled.
