Probably making a joke. Burnt out social worker, grown up english major, pizza snob, baby wearer, gardener, church lady, reptile. Big fan of New Jersey.
I was really excited to have a super productive day since my toddler went to her little playgroup today and then a very loud car crash happened right in front of my face while sitting at a light so instead I've spent the whole day trying to get my nervous system back under control.

Happy for everyone telling me that I'm stupid for still having FB but unfortunately it's the way to stay connected to town stuff especially when you have a little kid and our town buy nothing group is amazing. Congrats on the moral superiority though I guess.
So my Facebook page is suddenly all antivax autism Tylenol shit and all these ~holistic mamas~ are sure to point out that it's not just Tylenol and vaccines. It's formula and epidurals and prenatal nutrition and all kinds of things that mothers are doing wrong. So fun.

I've been a member of a progressive Dutch Reformed church full of Midwesterners for more than ten years and I've never really felt like I fit in and I realized today (as a person raised by fast talking Irish and Italian New Yorkers) it's because nice Dutch people don't get cooperative overlapping.

Very excited that Chris and I are gonna party like we're 15 years old tonight as he's going to play Risk with some friends and I'm watching the Lilith Fair documentary.

Live that my stupid MAHA former family friend is posting about how she knew 8 years ago during her first pregnancy that Tylenol caused autism so she's never taken it while pregnant but *checks notes* her oldest kid has autism.

Going apple picking with my mom today, can't wait to hear all her opinions about Charlie Kirk, a person she'd never heard of before his death.

I'm so mad about this autism Tylenol thing. This administration is hell bent on raising the birth rate but also wants to make pregnancy as miserable as possible for women? How does that make sense?

Well I guess the only good thing about this NJ gubernatorial debate is that I'm pretty sure almost no one is watching it.
September 21, 2025 at 11:59 PM
Heck yeah Mike Sherrill coming out as pro phonics on the gubernatorial debate!

I've been going to 4H and county fairs all summer and fall and I'm so over these events having an absolutely rocking GOP tent and almost no Dem presence. I was just at Sayreville Day and there was an LD-19 tent with Coughlin signs but where's the MCDO or Sherrill campaign?

Parenting has such odd tensions. I just packed up a bunch of Amelia's stuffed animals and was like "what if I threw all these in the garbage?" But I'm also extremely pumped to take her to Build a Bear to build a bear on her birthday.

As someone whose adolescence was punctuated by 9/11 in a big way (friends losing parents who worked in WTC, first responder family members getting sick, the smell of that big cloud of smoke, violence against my muslim neighbors in my super diverse town) I'm glad J.D Vance isn't at the memorial.

I have a spouse who lives in another part of the Internet so he tells me jokes he reads on reddit and I...well I don't repeat the things you people say on here.
cannot recommend enough marrying a non-poster, I have enough internet brainworms for both of us
Wife to me after listening to my breathless, worthless 2 minute rant: Who is Ezra Klein? Who is Charlie Kirk? Honey I can't believe I'm saying this but you need to play more videogames and get off the internet

Walkable neighborhood problems: a half gallon of milk is for people with no concept of value ($3.19) but if you buy the gallon of milk (4.60) you have to carry it home. With the rest of your groceries. And push a stroller.

I love that on the Daniel Tiger wedding episode where Dr Anna and Baker Aker get married there's a cookie table. Such Mr Rogers Pittsburgh energy.

I'm having so much fun planning our little fall family road trip, but did you guys know that if you want to go to a children's museum or pumpkin patch festival thing or Halloween event with a family of five, it will cost you one hundred American dollars? And that's only if one of you is a baby.

It's the last week for our pool club and I'm trying to be annoyed that it is absolutely not pool weather but this false fall weather is perfect so I don't care.

Everyone wants mutual aid and more civic engagement. No one wants to come to a fucking meeting after work.

I feel like my FB feed is all long schlocky stories and AI images. Who is this for? Are they also AI? Who likes this?

I'm generally ok with the post physical media world but the Plex server is down and the only CDs in the car are the Chorus Line soundtrack and the Best of the Laurie Berkner Band and like...I don't love those options.
