I absolutely adored this character too
It was definitely more in-your-face with the "destruction of nature is bad" message that a lot of Ghibli movies have, but it was really fun!

I admittedly did start nodding off and on near the end of the movie because I was functioning on 2 hours of sleep that day so I missed some stuff (it was the sub too so closing my eyes for 10 seconds meant I missed entire dialogue oops) so I was a lil confused at one point but I liked it!

Yeah I would love to see an adaptation that is more true to the books! I haven't read them myself but I've heard good things

So I'm bummed out that they feel like it needs a live-action adaptation. Just let the animation movie stand alone as it is, it's certainly strong enough to be admired for the wonderful piece of art that it is.

The sequels are pretty good too tbh! I think the movie could've stood alone with the first film but when it comes to sequels, HTTYD's are pretty good! It was a very satisfying ending. I watched a few episodes of the TV series too and it was fun! Overall, it's such an amazing franchise.

But like everything about the movie is fantastic. The animation itself is gorgeous, the writing is wonderful, the MUSIC omg the music is amazing, it's one of my favorite movie soundtracks of all time. Literally I could watch that movie every day and not get sick of it, it's so well done.

Once I accidentally knocked my mom's curling iron off the bathroom counter. I knew it was plugged in and on but I reacted before my brain could tell my arm to stop moving. I caught the curling iron in midair and burnt tf out of my hand😭
