It's the time of year when I see articles telling folks to put pet fur out for bird nesting. The Cornell ornithology lab does not recommend this! Flea/tick treatments & shampoos can be toxic, long fur can entangle chicks, etc. There are much better alternatives: www.allaboutbirds.org/news/providi...

Psst: 24-hour boycotts ALONE do nothing - if they don't change action permanently. If you boycott a company for a day but then just continue right on consuming at the same level you did before and from the same places, it does nothing. Let it be a first step in changing your actions moving forward.

Meta Just Laid Off 3,600 People with nothing but a cold, soulless email. No matter how loyal you are, they can drop you tomorrow. So, take your damn vacations. If your kids are sick, be there for them. No matter how hard you grind or how dedicated you are, these companies aren’t loyal to you.

i am going to put a finer point on this: executive orders are not laws. and they certainly are not royal decrees. they are interpretations of existing law for the purposes of enforcement. the fact that so many people are treating them as laws is actually driving me a bit insane.
i mean, the president's executive order isn't a goddamn law! as far as this doctor is concerned, who cares what the president says!
