(1/3) It's #FundraisingFriday again!

We at NEADS know that disabled and neurodivergent students are stretched thin financially. The NEADS Financial Assistance Program exists because of those barriers — so we don’t expect you to donate. What matters most is your voice and your advocacy.

Stable isotope courses available! ⚛️🔬
Why create two full stable isotope courses?

Because more and more people rely on isotopes — but very few get proper training in how to design studies, interpret data, or use tools like simmr or MixSIAR with confidence.

Oooh - Malawi cichlid ID guide! 🐟🐠🐟🐠

There's so many species and diversity that this is just Part 1! Awesome to see this type of resource.
Part 1 version 1 of my Malawi cichlid ID guide is out now. 2 more parts for follow, with my intention being to revise, expand and improve each over time. This one is essentially a companion to our whole genome sequence paper in Science (Blumer et al. 2025). ecoevorxiv.org/repository/v...

Chemosphere, now STOTEN. 👀😥
STOTEN is now dead. It has been completely removed from Web of Science mjl.clarivate.com/search-results
Warning to environmental scientists! 🧪🦑🌎🐟

The journal STOTEN has been placed on hold by Clarivate, meaning it is under investigation and may lose its indexing (including impact factor). Consider publishing elsewhere.

Since 2022, HRM’s LakeWatchers have been monitoring 70+ lakes across Halifax Regional Municipality, an area roughly the size of PEI.

Now, the LakeWatchers data is available on Atlantic DataStream thanks to the Municipality’s open data leadership: datastream.org/en-ca/articl...

Wetlands are rare and exceptional, even small ones.

Intrinsically valuable, they also:
🌱 Offer habitat for plants, insects, amphibians and birds
🌊 Absorb stormwater, buffering against floods
🌍 Filter and reduce pollutants, improving water quality
