I think it’s a combination of me being a writer so I pay close attention to what mood every word creates and what every word is trying to communicate and secondarily I am just a picky ass mf

I think my opinion on this might be skewed because I’m pedantic about words and I tend to work with different characters but yeah I learned about Vocaloid’s “free individual artist interpretation” stuff when I was like 8 so I have different wording for it 😭😭😭

I think I figured it out. something about “All Mikus are canon” implies that everyone’s individual works are canon to the actual original character when it’s not really the case. Individual artist edits and interpretations are HIGHLY encouraged but CFM still has the final say on the official Miku

like I’ll see a random Miku video and they’re like “is it okay for me to change Miku like this” and some replies “yes, all Mikus are canon :D” and I’m like “you’re almost there but you’re nooottt quite right”

Plus it’s not even exclusive to Miku it applies to any Vocaloid character that has interpretable lore like this could apply to Oliver too

CFM’s Piapro characters in general it’s just heavily encouraged for you to do whatever you want with them but that doesn’t really entail any canonicity in my head
