We've spent the last two days with Jumpstart organizers from across the country, learning how to better support aspiring neighborhood-based, community-minded real estate developers. Coming home inspired and ready to do more!
A large group of smiling people A post-it note that reads "Our Why", with a hand drawn pinwheel in motion. Community investment leads to community wealth (and vice versa). A photo of a slide that has 5 elements of the Jumpstart philosophy. A long table with four panelists, including our Josh Daly second from right.

This analysis estimates that 48% of adults under age 65 with individual market coverage are either employed by a small business with fewer than 25 workers, self-employed entrepreneurs, or small…

3 cheers for this proposal for an investment into employee ownership from @sabinamatos.bsky.social. "It’s time to chart a new path: one where the businesses that define Rhode Island stay open and remain in the hands of the communities who built them."
Rhode Island is losing its iconic businesses. Employee ownership could keep the doors open. - The Boston Globe
If we want to save more businesses from disappearing, we must act urgently, writes Lieutenant Governor Sabina Matos.

We honor labor, today and every day. Thank you to the workers who build, serve, and better Rhode Island.
White, red, and teal clouds on the top border. Text reads:

We honor labor. Workers make our communities. They teach, craft, build, and harvest. They provide: food, care, and skill. Workers create the infrastructure we rely on. They shape our places. Without labor, there is no wealth.

Thank you to the workers that build,
serve, and better Rhode Island.

Observe. Organize. Respect.
