I'm sorry, Darcie, but I think you did the right thing. It's a bit of a joke asking a Native (or non-white, for that matter) author to not touch on any of those topics when they're clearly so important and integral to your experience.

The latest Shark Trust newsletter had a lovely photograph of a Blue, and you could see all its Ampullae of Lorenzini. I think Blues definitely result in the goofiest marine photography, especially if they are snooting and the camera has some sort of distorting lens.
