Today tech companies have the power of nations. Satellite comms via Starlink in Ukraine, for ex. Controlled by Elon Musk, not defense officials. Unaccountable, lucrative and obscure power. This is the security conversation for democratic societies.

Lesson for progressives: Debunking the whole narrative is important, not just snippets of grievance. (I.e. Per issue or scapegoating a target. Ask, What worldview allows for this? Explaining is prebunking) Lessons from Libya. #BuildPeace.

The difference today is that with Trump, many of the most powerful leaders in the commercial tech industry have dropped the pretense of caring about human rights or content moderation. #BuildPeace

Today’s battlefield: mostly US based tech companies moderate content on behalf of western worldviews and against the interests of the global majority. People die because of it.

I spoke with a group of moms in SFO who had lost children to suicide prompted by digital platforms. They said their only hope was European legislation. “ (come on, Congress get your act together) #BuildPeace
