Another banger from Freire in 1970:

(Source: morrow & Torres, Reading Freire and Habermas, 2002)

I find it interesting at this moment in American history to remember that nothing is truly all that new. It’s both a comforting and deeply depressing thought.

This was written in 1970. Directly speaks to the exploitative nature of “AI hype” and the tech broligarchy currently running the govt.

Just finished The Invincible. Greatly enjoyed it. 7 hrs.

Definitely recommend the game to anyone seeking a single player sci fi experience.

Just play it, don’t read about it or lots of spoilers. Better to just dive in.

All choices in the game are meaningful. I am satisfied with my ending.

Her crime? saying diversity is our strength on LinkedIn.

She also said one time in a speech that “empowering women unlocks human potential.”

This new McCarthyism hates women. A new “pinko” to despise?

Every GOP voter: you OWN THIS.
This is YOUR destruction.
You *hate* women. And progress.

In positive news, had great Korean bim-bip-bap today! (Sorry for the misspelling here’s a photo for penance)

Women need to wake up and start protecting each other from the onslaught on our rights.

Well this sure is a banger.

Coming from Freire who was exiled from Brazil because teaching the poor to read meant they could then vote (and overthrow the fascist govt at the time) should make all of us more aware of why some folks in the US would love to destroy #education for student autonomy

super good read on the valuable work of Ursula Franklin, who survived Nazi Germany to do good writing and thinking about how technological innovation reshapes our world.

People complaining the Episcopal minister was out of line for confronting Trump during her inaugural sermon on Monday. A lack of decorum, of wisdom, knowing he’d be a toddler.

I’m not even all that connected to the Church these days. But I know theology.

My thoughts:

Do this NOW as in right this minute if you have student loans.

The payment tracker is live and works, added just a few days ago. No idea how long it will last.

Wow they buried the critical point in the final paragraph. The only teachers reporting an improvement in student behavior credit it to admins who actually understand how bad things have gotten for daily classroom behavior.

Forgot I had posted this to my research blog (where I sometimes remember to put notes as I read articles in my field of leadership and organizational theory). Good one on #teaching

Genuinely the content that makes me spend 90% of my social media time on Bluesky now. I nearly spewed coffee reading that first comment.

This chocolate+pain method could easily emerge as “the only way to survive the bullshit that will be America in 2025,” honestly.
