This was written in 1970. Directly speaks to the exploitative nature of “AI hype” and the tech broligarchy currently running the govt.

Just finished The Invincible. Greatly enjoyed it. 7 hrs.

Definitely recommend the game to anyone seeking a single player sci fi experience.

Just play it, don’t read about it or lots of spoilers. Better to just dive in.

All choices in the game are meaningful. I am satisfied with my ending.

Coming from Freire who was exiled from Brazil because teaching the poor to read meant they could then vote (and overthrow the fascist govt at the time) should make all of us more aware of why some folks in the US would love to destroy #education for student autonomy
This is a great discovery, education is politics! When a teacher discovers that he or she is a politician, too, the teacher has to ask, What kind of politics am I doing in the classroom? That is, in favor of whom am I being a teacher? The teacher works in favor of something and against something. Because of that, he or she will have another great question, How to be consistent in my teaching practice with my political choice? People complaining the Episcopal minister was out of line for confronting Trump during her inaugural sermon on Monday. A lack of decorum, of wisdom, knowing he’d be a toddler.

I’m not even all that connected to the Church these days. But I know theology.

My thoughts:
What is the role of a minister standing in the prophetic office if not to be the voice of God to power? Almost no one has opportunity to tell Trump "do the right thing, you claim to sort of care, so actually try." I like in Barth's Church Dogmatics (I believe it's where I read it) how he describes anyone who preaches the Word as having the role of pointing others to The Word (Christ) — that IS the role. American Christianity - the loud popular version that takes up all the oxygen in the room - is currently hell-bent on selling a vision of Jesus that is disgusting: as if God condones punishing women who get abortions, or rounding up immigrants who dare cross our borders for scraps of wealth from the richest country that's ever existed. The evangelicals cheering on Trump are taking God's name in vain every time they open their mouths and suggest He would be at all pleased by their ugly hateful rhetoric and actions. I applaud her. She did exactly what I think a Prophet of God (in the forth-telling sense of the term, not the fore-telling one) should do when fascism tries to wrap itself in Jesus as well as the flag.

Wow they buried the critical point in the final paragraph. The only teachers reporting an improvement in student behavior credit it to admins who actually understand how bad things have gotten for daily classroom behavior.
